Gun Violence
My issue with gun violence is that too many of our kids have guns in their possession. Therefore, my staff and I would work tirelessly to help diminish the gun activity around St.James Parish.
Community Policing
The media and the public critiqued and criticized Law Enforcement for doing their duties. However, I feel that this is occurring because we don't know the officers we are entrusting to protect us. Getting back to community policing can resolve most of these issues. As Sheriff, I would stress and also challenge the men and women of my department to interact with the community and build a bigger and better bond between the community and Law enforcement.
